Apple launched its new Mac App Store this Thursday and it took the store mere 24 hours to record its first million downloads. Thisputs Mac App Store right there with all other Apple Superstars such as iPhone and iPad. However, it does not mean that the launch had been completely smooth and hiccup free. For one, many users were hit with "Error 100", which meant that the users had to restart their iTunes for getting the app downloaded. In some cases, entire Mac system needed to be shutdown to make it work properly.
App Store has also allegedly been hacked by some enthusiastic hackers and they were able to download pirate copies of apps. Nonetheless, Steve Jobs has claimed that he is "amazed at the incredible response the Mac App Store is getting." He also said that "developers have done a great job bringing apps to the store and users are loving how easy and fun the Mac App Store is." Anyways, the one big problem with the App store viz. the inability to demo apps is here to stay and let's see how this new concept fares in the long run.
