We reported a few weeks ago that Apple was planning on slashing the prices of its stock including the current iPhone 4 the previous iPhone 3GS and the iPad.
This obviously lead to Apple fans getting excited over iPhone 5 whilst one of our readers commented stating she has a source close to Apple and slashes are simply “because apple have quite a lot of stock & with the vat rate going up they decided to drop the prices on the iPhones.”
Whatever the reason for the price slashes, they're here and they're serious cuts. AT&T Inc. will start selling the previous-generation the iPhone 3GS for a fantastic $49 starting from Friday (with a two-year service contract and data plan.)
The wireless company, which is the exclusive U.S. carrier for the iPhone, made the announcement Thursday.
But I would beware of being roped in by the price cuts. The handset price is great but with a two year data plan attached you could be stuck with an outdated handset which is only going to get more irritating when people start flaunting iPhone 5's when they do eventually come out (which will no doubt be within two years.)
