A few weeks ago, we showed you a leaked image of the upcoming HTC EVO Shift 4G with some leaked specs. Well, Sprint has now officially announced the Android device along with its release date and specs.
The HTC EVO Shift 4G is set to feature a 3.6 inch touch screen (as opposed to the 3.7 one mentioned in the leak), a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and will be running Android 2.2 Froyo on launch. Other specs for the device also include; a 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording, integrated WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot which can handle up to 32GB cards.
In the official press release for the HTC EVO Shift 4G, Sprint CEO Dan Hesse said; "Sprint will continue to set the bar for feature-rich and customer-friendly 4G devices into 2011," ["¦] "Our proven leadership as a 4G pioneer has allowed our customers to enjoy 4G from Sprint first, and these new products exemplify Sprint's commitment to put industry-leading performance and capabilities in the hands of our customers."
The device will be available on the 9th January, and can be bought for $150 with a two year contract with Sprint.
