Not a long time back, we had talked about a vamped up version of Samsung Galaxy player and the South Korean company has chosen
Europe as its launch pad. Earlier, the company had started accepting pre-orders for the "iPod-killer" in France, and now Android-running media player has made appearance on Amazon UK. The player has been listed at £150 for 5GB version, whereas for 16GB, you will have to shell out £180. The tentative release date has been set at January 7.
The player is likely to be placed as a direct competitor to Apple's iPod Touch. The player runs on solid Android 2.2 or Froyo OS and has access to the Market. Galaxy Media Player will also have 1 GHz processor. The player will also feature a bigger screen of 4 inches, although it will be Clear LCD instead of AMOLED. With dual cameras, the player may pose a stiff competition to iPod Touch. Its rear camera has a healthy 3.2 megapixel resolution. So, do these stats impress you?
