Tablet segment may be getting a bit crowded but this is not going to deter the companies from joining in. The latest entrant isHTC and if a new trademark filing by the company is to be believed, then soon we can have HTC Scribe hitting the store shelves. The submission has described its device as a "handheld wireless device, namely, a tablet computer."
Rumors doing rounds suggest that the tablet might come with a stylus, no not with the resistive screen. The stylus is likely to be a capacitive one, on the lines of the ones offered for the HD2 smartphone. The tablet may have a dual mode touchscreen incorporating an active digitizer. This feature would allow more accurate writing and drawing support.
HTC Scribe will come with a 10 inch display with 1280×720 resolution. It is expected to have an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor under the bonnet and 2GB onboard memory. You can further enhance the storage by using up to 32GB microSD card. Scribe's operating system will most likely be Android Honeycomb version. Expect the tablet to arrive in the market before the end of the first quarter of 2011.
