Although Dell Streak have had a pretty good run, the company has decided to spread some holiday cheer and has reduced the price of its unlocked Streak tablet by cool $180. Now, the tablet can be yours for only $400. However, this price is only available through Dell website as AT&T is still listing the older prices of $550 and $650 for 16GB and 32GB versions respectively.

The company has not given any reason for the massive price reduction, but we are not complaining. However, it may be due to the company's plan to start selling a 7-inch tablet and thus is clearing out Streak stock. Dell is planning to launch its new tablet "Looking Glass" at CES 2011.

Streak was launched in the US some four months back. Although, Dell did not disclose the sales figure for the tablet, but Streak sure has a tough competition from Galaxy Tab and Apple's iPad. Both these devices have near-identical price to Streak, but offer bigger screen and better memory.

If there is somethig right in this , this could be that they
clearing only 1.6 Android preinstall units! Otherwise Streak 5
inches is the winner , not 7 inches ! 7-9-10 inces tablets are far
from to replace lap-tops, so everything between 5 inches all-in-one
and lap-tops will be unimportant until tablets a able to replace
laptops with physical keyboard and fuctions.(not soon)

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
