Google TV hasn’t exactly gotten off the ground very well with various problems emerging, and their hardware manufacturers are noticing.
It seems that the report a few days ago about Google telling all their manufacturing partners for the Google TV to not show their new products at CES in January 2011 has also had some negative repercussions with Logitech, who have already released the Logitech Revue for Google TV.
Digitimes has reported that the company building the Revue – Gigabyte – have been told to halt production of the set-top box for a period covering December 2010 and all through January 2011. The manufacturing restarting is conditional however, with the Revue only resuming production if Google give the Google TV software a significant update or a completely new version.
If you still want a Revue, you can still get one, it’s just that less devices are being traded between manufacturers and retailers. Hopefully Google will pick up the pace and bring in some real competition for the Apple TV soon, as this year seems to have been a bit of a flop for the Google TV.
