Although having only come out in the UK yesterday (a week ago in the US), it seems the Gingerbread flagship from Google is already receiving an OTA update with reports of the update popping up on the XDA Developers forums. The first update to the Nexus S seems to fix some bugs present on the phone, along with a map update for the device.

The new OTA update for the Nexus S seems to be rolling out gradually to devices at the moment, with some reports of people getting alerts already with other not getting anything at all.

Although unconfirmed, one user on the forums has said that some of the browser’s lag problems have been fixed with the update, while some seem disappointed that the blurry MMS problems which have been affecting some users hasn’t been fixed.

Don’t expect any big changes from the Nexus S update though, it’s under 2MB in size so expect only the most minor changes to the Nexus S for now. Have you recieved the update? Have you noticed any other fixes or changes with the Nexus S?

I did receive the update today. But, there are a few things that I am annoyed about still like the video calling. Qik only supports the mytouch 4g. Tango says they fixed the front camera issue but I still can’t use it to call out. One other thing that it was doing is the screen was getting stuck sideways. Oh well, I guess thats what happens when you get the phone the first day it comes out.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
