Gingerbread is here, but there are almost no devices which are currently ready for the Android update yet officially. An unofficial update however is here for the HTC Droid Incredible thanks to the XDA Developers people who have managed to find a way of getting a build of Android 2.3 Gingerbread to work on the device.
The XDA team have working on revised versions of Gingerbread for the Droid Incredible since the first version launched on December 8th with this most recent version being the forth, which irons out bugs and runs better than their previous versions.
The newest version now fixes the 8 megapixel camera, fixes Facebook Sync, and some other outstanding problems. This latest version is not complete however, with problems involving the GPS and camcorder persisting. However, we wouldn't be surprised if the XDA team get this sorted in the near future.
If you want to get a feeling of how Android 2.3 Gingerbread will run on your HTC Droid Incredible before the official update, you can check out the XDA forums here to find the instructions.
