Next year is looking to be a year of great potential growth for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, with a second batch of devices expected to be announced at the Mobile World Conference in February (which is expected to bring Lenovo and ZTE to the game), and some minor updates coming early in the year.

One of the more promising things that could help out Windows Phone 7 next year is the likely alliance with phone manufacturers Nokia with reports stating the two companies have been having talks together recently.

It has been speculated that Nokia’s new CEO Stephen Elop could be the reason for Nokia’s interest in the Microsoft OS, with interest in Nokia’s Symbian OS seeming to drop.

According to Murtzain, we could be seeing the Windows Phone 7 Nokia devices coming to Europe as early as Q2 2011, but this unfortunately means we probably won’t be seeing anything in the MWC second batch.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
