The LG Optimus 2X Dual-Core – previously leaked under the name LG Star – has been announced by LG, showing promise as one of the top devices to come from LG with its impressive specs.
The big feature of the smartphone is the NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, which is the reason the device dons the dual-core title. Other specs which have emerged on the device include; an 8-megapixel camera on the back, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls, 1080p HD video recording, a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 8GB of storage and DLNA.
The Android device which was previously speculated to be released with Android 2.3 Gingerbread already installed, has had this hope taken away by LG, with the company announcing that it will come with Android 2.2 Froyo. It’s not all bad news though, as LG did say that it will be upgradable to Google’s newest OS version.
The LG Optimus 2X Dual-Core is due to come out next month in Korea, with a Europe release not looking to far off after that.
