Google Android 2.2 to Hit Nook Color in January

Nook Color has already been dubbed as a budget Android tablet and now with the news that the e-book reader might get Androidupdate in January, Nook has just got a little closer to Tablet status. Under this update, the e-reader will get access to a revamped Android Market. However, it still will not be able to access the full version market. The Android Market for Nook Color is not likely to feature full apps.

Starting January, you would be able to use pinch to zoom gesture on Nook Color and it will also feature and more conventional Android home screen. The new features are expected to improve the battery performance of the e-reader. Nook has been lagging behind Amazon's Kindle in battery performance. Nook Color is currently retailing for $249 and with the new update, it will be able to perform most of the functions of a tablet. We would say it sounds like a good deal.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
