Epic games release Infinity Blade for iPhone.

At last! The birth of proper portable gaming on smartphones. Sure Angry birds is good fun but it's just a physics puzzler there's hundreds on the internet and fart soundboards and Sudoku are just getting a bit boring now.

Thankfully things could be about to change with arguably the release of what is arguably the first 'real game' to hit the iPhone or at least the first game for nerds.

Epic (the team behind Gears of War) has just released its first full game for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Infinity Blade is an Unreal Engine 3 powered (like Batman Arkham Asylum and Boderlands) action RPG developed by Chair Entertainment, creator of the massively popular Xbox Live Arcade game Shadow Complex.

Chair creative director Donald Mustard told our pals at Edge: “We realised we wanted to do something that was completely unique for a touch screen, so our mantra from day one was: you must be able to do something meaningful and fun in less than five minutes, and do it all with one finger.”

Screenshots of the graphics look amazing. Infinity Blade is available now on iTunes and the App Store for £3.49 so get downloading, get on here and tell us how it is. I'd be doing it now if I had an iPhone.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
