Playstation Phone Buttons Found In Gingerbread Code?

The Playstation Phone from Sony is currently a bit of a mysterious device, and has already been rumoured to be launched sometime next year. Thanks to people sniffing around the Android view.KeyEvent class file for Android 2.3, we may have a clue that the device could be coming on Gingerbread.

Looking at the class file, some new fields have been discovered which contain data for A, B, C, L1, L2, R1, R2, select, start, X, Y, and Z buttons. These keys are believed to be for the Playstation Phone gaming features which would mean the device would come out with Android 2.3 Gingerbread installed already.

However, with the previous Playstation consoles, traditional button layout would be Triangle, Circle, Square, and X as opposed to A, B, C, X, Y, and Z. The L's and R's, and select and start are consistent, so we're not quite sure what to think right now, especially since leaked images have shown the device with traditional buttons.

We're keeping our fingers crossed and hope this is a sign the Playstation Phone is coming for now. At least, it’s likely some sort of android gaming device will be coming if the code is using keys like that.
