The Xperia X10 - the Android flagship device from Sony Ericsson - has been using Google's Android 1.6 since its launch, and Android 2.1 was surprising released for the device, giving users the impression this would be the last OS update we would see for the X10, with the device ready to be outdone by the next in the series, the yet-to-be-released Xperia X12.
However, it seems a Turkish support representative for Sony Ericsson released a message which has revealed that Sony Ericsson is planning to release Android 2.2 Froyo on the X10 in Q2 next year.
It's unfortunately a long wait for the Xperia users, and by this time Gingerbread will be old to us, and Android 3.0 Honeycomb will probably be on the cards. This will probably be the last amount of love the phone will be getting from Sony Ericsson unfortunately, but it's good to know they're giving it anything at all.

I seriously hope that they skip 2.2 completely and just give us 2.3
I hate the way they are always behind on the updates. I only just got the 2.1 update for the Xperia X8, and now the new Gmail App says that it requires 2.2
Xperia phones are good, but they are still being let down by late releases of the software. Can’t SE invest in a bigger software team, as software is possibly more important than hardware these days
which is one is telling the truth, the spanish blogger or uk se tweek? spanish blog promise us to get the update later this year and the one from uk, x10 will not get further update beyond 2.1! wtf!!is this a early april fool joke? please tell it is!
