Richard Branson to publish ‘iPad magazine.’

It's official, the iPad is a rich man's toy. We just found out the other day that media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is to publish a newspaper especially for Apple's latest gizmo and now billionaire Richard Branson wants in on the action.

Branson is interested in launching a magazine solely for ipad users after trying his hand in the media, cola, space-flight, cosmetics and railway industry to name but a few.

Invitations to an event in New York City were sent out under the codename “Project” where it was announced that the magazine is set to incorporate the themes of entertainment, travel, business, design and international culture.

If Branson manages to build up a decent audience, then he has effectively created an easy way to funnel advertisements for his business empire into unsuspecting readers. We’ll be booking flights to the moon before we know it.

At the moment there is no word on whether Branson’s effort at the publishing will be given away for free or will be subscription based.

If things keep going the way they are Murdoch and Branson will have a lot of competition as more and more publishers see potential in the iPad as a platform and as iPad sales increase and expand its audience they'll be people lining up to pop out the latest iPad magazine or newspaper.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
