Harry Potter Magic Wand Remote Control

You’d have to have been living under a rock for the past decade to not know who Harry Potter was, or to have missed the general trend towards the supernatural and all that goes with it (FYI- vampire should not freakin’ SPARKLE!). Inevitably this will have let to the general desire of the populous to be able to make things happen at the flick or a highly ornate twig.

Step forward Wand Remote Control- your time has come!

Remote controls are boring. I haven’t a clue what half the buttons do on mine (then again I live next to a busy main road so I never have a steady enough signal on my TV to find out!). With the Wand Remote Control, you don’t even need to try and find out what the ‘-/- -‘ button means because you can preprogram 13 predefined gestures into and, and then control your TV by the simple act of flailing at it.

For example- you could silence XFactor with a big anti-clockwise circle to turn the volume down, or you could banish Bruce Forsythe entirely with a satisfying slashing motion to turn the set off. Soon you’d stop even bothering to watch TV, preferring instead to just mess around with your remote control and astound the dog with your magic.

My only problem would be remembering what I’ve programmed in. I’d need a hand crib list. And if someone else works out how to change the settings and programs in a ridiculously complex pattern for ‘off’ then you could be stuck watching E4 for the rest of your life.

My favourite addition is a heart beat like pulse which tells you when the batteries are getting low. Firstly for the fact that a pulse will run down your batteries even quicker and I love irony, but mostly because I can’t the image out of my head of Dumbledore taking the batteries out of his wand half way through the film and rubbing them to get more juice…

Comes in a smart presentation box too. So no, it shouldn’t roll down the back of the sofa so easily.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
