Steam issues first patch for Black Ops (single player)

You don't break video game records without a few teething problems along the way. No doubt we'll be bombarded with patches for Black Ops in the coming weeks. Reflecting the multiplayer emphasis of COD, single player was neglected whilst Steam whipped out a mega-multiplayer patch.

But now for those who actually bother with the single player campaign (and why shouldn't they, what's cooler than 'cold-war' flash backs of a solider being integrated in a chair) there's a new patch from steam which fixes some of the problems which have been reported with single player on PC.

Framerate issues have been steadily aggravating COD fans since Black Ops release and the new patch
addresses this with better support for dual and quad core CPUs.

The steam update also includes a second multiplayer patch that fixes the server browser to allow quicker list population and prevents it from refreshing too often.

Also improved are the matchmaking system in the Zombie game and some Steam interface relate bugs.

Unfortunately there’s a huge, game ruining glitch floating around which is yet to be patched, so watch out.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. But that guy’s got the right idea. It’s only a game after all. So let’s not take it too seriously.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
