Barnes & Noble has started shipping its new e-reader NookColor. The device has arrived in the market ahead of its schedule. Thecompany has stated that it has started dispatching the device to buyers who had pre-ordered NookColor. The e-reader has reached the physical stores as well. The company has claimed that it has received encouraging response from the consumers. Barnes & Noble has also added that initially, the device is likely to have "limited inventory".
Barnes & Noble has collaborated with WalMart and Best Buy for hawking ColorNook. ColorNook, true to its name, features a color touch screen. It is also Wi-Fi enabled and comes with over 2 million book titles in its library. It also has a unique LendMe feature, which enables the users to lend books to their friends. Alternatively, you can choose to borrow books from your friends. The app is free of cost and you can keep the borrowed books for up to 14 days. It also offers various options for personalizing the device such as changing fonts or home screen. The e-reader has been widely touted as an alternative to tablets.
