Good old Microsoft has announced that it has sold more than 1 million of Kinect devices since the launch. The company took 10 days
to reach the milestone and is now confident of beating its target of selling 5 million Kinect devices by the end of this year. The company is also hopeful of beating Sony and Nintendo with its latest Kinect technology.
Kinect is a sensing device which you can plug into the Xbox and then you can play games by voice commands and your body movements. Microsoft launched Kinect on 4th of this month in the US and the company is expecting the unit to hold its sales momentum on Black Friday. Europe started selling Kinect on November 10 and it is likely to hit Asian markets on 18th.
Microsoft is looking to change the course of video gaming with its new motion sensing technology. The company has already sold 45 million units of its Xbox 360 console. The company has priced Kinect standalone unit at $150 and together with 4 GB Xbox, the price tag has been pegged at $400. Let's see if Kinect-equipped Xbox can hold itself up against Wii and PlayStation.
