Netflix had recently announced its availability for Windows Phone 7 devices and since it already had presence on iOS platform, itmeant that only Android devices were left without any Netflix loving. But despair no more, Netflix has now announced that its services would be available for Android devices from early next year. The company has cited the "lack of a generic and complete platform security" as one of the reasons behind the delay in availability of Netflix on Android platform. Netflix also said that it was not able to secure Digital Rights Management or DRM system on these devices and hence had concerns about piracy.
However, Netflix has found a way around and has collaborated with various handset manufacturers for ensuring the security of its content. So, the net result is that Netflix is now available for Android devices but not for all of them. The company has not provided the list of handsets which would be able to play Netflix. So, just a couple of more months and your Android phone will be up to date with a Netflix App.
