Prolific Microsoft blogger Mary Jo Foley has been reporting that most stores are either sold out or almost sold out of Windows Phone 7 devices.

She has also speculated about glitches in the software and problems with the hardware. Though (of course) Microsoft isn't saying a button about any problems they have admitted to the reported shortages and have confirmed that supply will be replenished in the coming weeks.

With Black Friday coming up shortly they might want to get a move on.

But it seems strange that Windows phones are sold out when most sites seem to be reporting low sales figures. Just what is going on with them? there's so much conflicting news at the moment. When the dust settles are we going to start seeing stats which confirm a disappointing launch or have they really sold enough to sell out? Sorry to be one of those guys but, maybe they're trying to hype their handset up and create the illusion that it is mightily popular when in reality there probably stacked to the ceiling in phone shops.

What do you think is going on with Windows Phone 7? Know anyone that's bought one, anyone at all, I don't.

I have an IPhone4, an Android and just bought a windows phone 7.. Without a doubt, windows phone 7 is far superior in look & feel, much more quicker and easier to use.. Finally something fab from Microsoft!

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
