Samsung Galaxy phones are certainly proving their might in the market. Recently, Samsung Galaxy S surpassed iPhone 4 to become
Japan's most favored phone. Now, the company has announced that it has hit 3 million mark for its US shipment of Galaxy S phones. Samsung has shipped seven million Galaxy S phones globally since its launch.
The company also hinted that it wished it had more supply of the phones, although it refused to provide concrete figures for the shortage of the phone. The main hindrance to the increased supply may be due to AMOLED display technology. The company still has only limited supply of these displays.
The feat is certainly impressive, as long as we do not compare it to the fact that Apple took mere three weeks to sell its first three million iPhone 4. iPhone 4 is available only through AT&T whereas all the major telecom carriers in the US offer Samsung Galaxy. Galaxy may not have notched up as many admirers as iPhone has, but certainly more competition in the market is always good for consumers. What do you say?
