If, like me, you're sick of Farmville, Fishville, this ville and that ville, then a recent deal between Facebook and EA is sure to brighten up your day. EA said it also plans to bring such classics as Monopoly, Scrabble and Boggle to Facebook, it sounds great to me.
The Videogame maker Electronic Arts announced that it had reached a five-year deal with Facebook that would make the social networking site's virtual currency the exclusive payment method for purchasing virtual items in EA games.
“Since gaming has emerged as the most popular category of applications on Facebook, the natural next step is for EA to broaden its relationship with Facebook and its 500 million users,” said EA Interactive senior vice president and Barry Cottle.
EA has already been doing well on the social networking site, having many games in the top ten such as,”Pet Society", “Restaurant City." After this deal, expect a lot more EA on Facebook.
Bring on the Boggle.
