Today sees the release and announcement of two big new apps for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 with the official Twitter app, and the Kindle app:

The Twitter app for Windows Phone 7 seems to be very similar to other mobile OS's versions of the app such as the iPhone and Android versions.

As with our other mobile clients, Twitter for Windows Phone includes all of the features that you'd expect from Twitter - your timeline, suggested users, messages, lists, and a great way to explore Twitter without even logging in. You can sign up for an account right from the app as well. The app is really fast, and we think you'll enjoy the experience.

The Twitter app is free for download now from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

Kindle - the eBook app - offers 725,000 publications to the WP7, and has other features such as: personalised recommendations for the user, automatic back-up for anything you purchase, the option of sharing purchases over a range of devices with a 'last page read' feature which is remembered when crossing over and you can also send recommendations to friends.

The Kindle app isn't out yet, but it will be free to download. You can sign up for a notification when it becomes available through here, and the app is expected to be released before the end of the year.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
