PSP2 Specs Currently Include an HD Screen, Touch Panel and Overheating

Speculation about the PSP2 has been going around for a very long time now (well since the release of the PSP at least), and we all know that its release is inevitable and soon. Well with Sony not quite cracking it out yet, we're still getting leaks and rumours around the upcoming handheld gaming device.

Thanks to the guys at Kotaku, we have learnt that little bit more about the next-gen PSP. The PSP2's screen is reportedly sharper and an inch bigger than the original, as well as supposedly being an HD display (but would you really expect less?).

There have also been confirmations of a previous rumour around a touch panel on the back of the device. Unfortunately it seems the device is not ready for the public yet, with reports of overheating issues from trying to balance battery and power. Expect some specs to possibly change before the official Sony announcement because of all this tinkering.

There are also rumours of an autumn 2011 release date. However, none of these reports or sources come from Sony themselves, so expect the final product to be a little different from rumours (no matter how reliable they may be).

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
