It seems Steve’s getting his turtle-neck sweater in a twist. The Apple CEO has ruled out the possibility of a 7-inch iPad, rubbishing the format saying that “people need to use sandpaper to sand down their fingers to use the screen”.
He's either bluffing us all or he really hates 7-inch pads and if he does then the chances of a 7-inch iPad are zilch despite the crazy rumours in the Chinese newspapers and on the Apple Forums.
It's not only the concept of the '7-incher' that Steve had a rant about. He's not being very optimistic about the chances of his competitors either.
Talking about the surge of 'iPad-killers' Jobs said "There are only a few credible competitors, and they mostly all have 7-inch screens. This size isn’t sufficient to create great tablet apps,” he finishes, "10-inches is the minimum tablet size”. So there you have it.
Oh and he had a pop at Android too, predictably, “Even Google is telling tablet companies to wait for a new release of Android next year…What does it mean when software supplier says not to use software for tablets, and what does this mean when you ignore them and use it anyway?”
"The competition is going to be dead on arrival”.
Steady on Steve, you'll give you're self a heart attack at this rate.
Jokes aside, isn't he being a little over-confident? Or is the iPad really all conquering

Ohhh dear,
For all these years I’ve looked on in dismay, watching people giving Steve Jobs an hard time. I’m no ‘fanboy’ – having never bought an Apple product since I watched the original launch ! – and (when I can understand what they tend to write) I seriously question the intelligence and breeding of many of them.
But now, I fear Steve Jobs has flipped.
How can he – a sensible person, with a loyal following – be so silly as to condemn competitive 7″ tablets.
And with such paltry logic !!
‘Sandpaper’ for heavens sake … the wrong size for applications … implying Android Apps will not run on 7″ screens (just watch Google Map Navigation in a car …; and criticizing Android Apps that we all know will ‘come right ‘ as soon as Gingerbread launches !!
Watch the curves, Steve. Look to your own products and get them right.
You do yourself a GREAT INJUSTICE … and you’re beginning to look as if you’re running just a teeny bit scared.
Get some better advice and watch the market !!
Here is a video of steve jobs explaining it in his own words. There won’t be a 7 inch ipad for sure and it will be tough for competitors.

Hi I have a great story that should be told about how wonderful my service has been at getting a order from Steve Jobs and his reps here in Canada..Below is explaining my problem and the letter I have sent to about 20 people at apple in the past week..
I have spent around 20 hrs the past week and a half talking to Apple reps Apple managers and anyone else who perhaps could help me figure out where someone went wrong with my order of a Iphone 4 32g and I have gotten nowhere .I even sent a fax directly to Steve Jobs office.I had placed a order for a I phone 4 in Aug 20th, and never was sent a confirmation of the placed order to my Email ..Then about 2 weeks later I called back in to see why I was never sent any conf # or order # for the Canadian postal money order I had sent for the I phone, and I was assured by Malery it was received and my phone was on its way, Once again I asked for a order # and never got anything in my e mail ..And now over a month later I have spent the last 5 days talking with Apple rep after Apple rep and managers from 3 different apple numbers Ive been given and still no closer to getting my phone I had ordered over a month and a half ago …No one I have spoken with can find anything except my address and phone number …I had even sent in my copy of the money order due to no one having any info on my order, even though I was assured it was on its way over a month ago…Now I have no E mail order # or copy of the money order and no phone and I’m out almost $900 …I am so sick of this, I have been wasting so much time while at work trying to just simply get my damn phone I paid for and everyone I’ve talked to just keeps wasting my time …
I JUST WANT MY PHONE I PAID FOR ……………….

I am going to post this everywhere on the net until I get what I have paid for
Having made my point, to open this discussion, I would normally have left it there…
But I think the discussion need s little more ‘balance’ to it.
So try this, please.

I’ve been watching the ‘tablet’ debate for a very long time – and I’m bound to say that I think Steve Jobs may only lately have found it.
Perhaps looking at this might help him to a better understanding of the matter ?
