Microsoft Announce Windows Phone 7 to Mac Syncing Software

It seems that Microsoft and Apple are actually acting a little rationally with each other for once in a blue moon, by actually accepting people can have one of their products, but may not have them all. What I am referring to in this instance anyway is that there will be people who have Macs but may still want to get a Windows Phone 7 Smartphone without a load of compatibility hassles.

Well, Microsoft have announced their plans for a Mac compatibility client for their WP7 devices. Some time "later in 2010", Mac users will be happy to know a beta OS X application will be released, allowing you to sync "select content" from a Mac to a Windows Phone (take a brief pause to gasp). Unfortunately, there is little more information from Microsoft or Apple regarding the matter despite their whopping statement regarding the matter:

"Later in 2010 Microsoft will make a public beta available of a tool that allows Windows Phone 7 to sync select content with Mac computers."

Well thanks Microsoft, I guess we'll be hearing more on this in the near future. For now, Mac users don't have to feel like they can't own a WP7 because of restrictive stuck-upness of their computer. So if you were bordering between WP7 and iPhone this Christmas has this pushed you over the edge or are you still adamant about the iPhone?

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
