Lately there has been a flurry of the news regarding iPhone. According to the rumor mills, Apple has planned to start manufacturing iPhone for Verizon consumption. The Cupertino based company is looking to start the production by the end of the year, which will allow Verizon to start hawking the smartphone early next year. We have been hearing about early 2011 release of Verizon iPhone for some time now, and one more stamp of confirmation is only going to make us more fidgety. On a separate note, Verizon has also announced that it will roll out LTE in 38 US cities in 2011.

Back to iPhone, Wall Street Journal has also reported that the company might be working on fifth generation smartphone. The new phone is expected to have a different from factor from the existing one. However, the Verizon phone will be the same iPhone 4, barring the fact that it would use CDMA technology. The key chip for the Verizon phone will be provided by Qualcomm Inc.

We are certainly excited about iPhone 5. However, the WSJ report itself has not been confirmed by Apple spokesperson, who declined to comment. So, Let's take a pinch of salt and rejoice.

  • Ooo let it be August when it comes out and them I will be able to buy one :) My contract ends in July so I’ll be able to get one in August. I better start saving my pennies now :) Maybe not pennies; but hundrends of pounds along with a stupidly high feature-low tariff lol

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
