Not too long ago Orange and T-Mobile merged together, and as of today, you can roam across either network free of charge if you are on either network.
The service isn't forced upon customers; it is activated by registering on either the Orange or T-Mobile websites. Once you sign up for the service you will receive a text which you require to reply YES to and then you can take advantage of the new service.
Some things you may be interested in knowing before applying to the service; you only have access to 2G as opposed to 3G whilst you are roaming, although there have been hints of 3G roaming coming soon. The roaming isn't perfect at the moment, if for example you are in a call while travelling and you lose one networks signal, the call will drop when it switches to the other, although again this is being worked on.
You can register for the roaming service here for Orange and here for T-Mobile.
Have you taken advantage of the new service? Leave us your thoughts on it below.

Since t mobile have merged with orange the little reception I had on the east coast has gone – I can’t get one bar and it’s been like this for weeks now so I cannot use the service. Yet I cannot complain as I told that it’s in the contract that no mobile service is 100 percent – mine is nil!!! Absolutely spitting mad about it!!
