Skype App Now Available on Android Devices

Skype have today debuted a fully working Android app. The video calling company are now offering their services on mobile devices with no Verizon limitations. Android Police have reported that the app currently only works through WiFi unfortunately (as opposed to your mobile's data connection), although this could easily change in the future. The press release from Skype also confirms that 3G Skype calls will be available to all outside the US.

The app is still running through a few minor problems that are being worked on such as some call crackling, and some incompatibilities with the Samsung Galaxy S, but other than this it seems to be in working order.

You need Android 2.1 on your device to run the app, so if you're a Skype user with an Android device, what are you waiting for? Download it and let us know what you think.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
