Nokia loses its MeeGo VP.

Around the time of the dare I say it: the, *cough* antenna scandal *cough* it seemed Apple were stuck in a bad place. Now, there's no way a multi-million dollar company was just going to crumble after a few problems at its camp, but it was certainly something they needed to sort out if they didn't want to take a huge PR blow.

Now it's Nokia who keep making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Type Nokia into a search engine and you'll no doubt get some blogger moaning about the lack of MeeGo or the fragility of Nokia in the no-man's-land between Apple and Android.

So what's happened now then? I hear you ask.

The VP in charge of Nokia’s MeeGo Devices has resigned. Ari Jaaksi confirmed to Finland’s Talous Sanomat that he resigned last week. According to a Nokia spokesman his departure "does not affect MeeGo’s rollout schedule. "

The schedule being a first device delivered before the end of 2010.

Jaaksi’s departure follows the high-profile exits of Nokia’s former CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo (replaced by Stephen Elop) and the head of Nokia Mobile Solutions, Anssi Vanjoki.

Every company loses staff but it just looks bad doesn't it? It seems MeeGo is doomed before it even appears.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
