3D mania is not showing any signs of abatement. The latest makeover is being given to Star Wars series. The idea is quite radical given the fact that the series is not even available in the Blu-ray format yet. However, The Hollywood Reporter has speculated that George Lucas is looking to release the 3D version of the first episode some time in 2012. Further, it has been reported that each year one movie will be released in the much coveted format, and also that the people behind this development are looking to maintain the serial order integrity.
Apparently, the movie franchise is betting on the fact that by the its movies come out, there will be ample of screens supporting the format. The idea does not seem far fetched, given the rate with which various products are getting evolved to accommodate 3D format. Lately, TV companies also seem to be vying with each for introducing 3D enabled screens. Although, we would love to see Star Wars in 3D format, but going by the performance of the other converted 3D movies, we are not going to hold our breath. What next, Harry Potter in 3D?
