Samsung Galaxy Tab Price Slashed Further in UK

Samsung's latest Toy is getting a price cut and the cuts are happening on daily basis. Yesterday, the tab was seen listed on Amazon for £679.90, unlocked and SIM-Free.

But today's Amazon listing has given a massive discount and the new price tag is £599.99. Not only it is £80 cheaper than a day before listing, but is also £200 less than Samsung's rumored recommended retail price of £799. Seems like, somebody is feeling the heat of competition. These prices are for unlocked slates, so we are expecting the carrier-subsidized tablets to have even more pocket-friendly price tags.

Samsung might be trying to skim the market before it gets flooded with newer and shinier tablets due to be released during the holiday seasons. However, if Samsung is really looking to utilize this marketing strategy, then it better speed up the date of availability as well. At IFA2010, the company had announced that the tablet would be available in Europe by September. But going by Amazon listings, Galaxy is set to make us wait until November. The 7-inch, Froyo wielding slate is likely to hit the US market in October.

If that’s the price they are going to sell the Galaxy for (£600) then it doesn’t matter when they release it. Nobody will buy it.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
