iPhone 4 To Hit Chinese Markets By This Weekend

iPhone 4 has finally found its way to Chinese market. The Cupertino-based company has collaborated with China Unicom for offering latest version of iPhone to Chinese masses. The company will offer the phones via its retail stores. The Wall Street Journal has reported that China Unicom has already taken nearly 50,000 pre-orders by Friday, which was its first day of accepting pre-orders. With this figure, iPhone 4 is looking to break the records set by iPhone 3GS.  Last year, China Unicom took almost six weeks to sell100, 000 iPhone 3GS.

Apple will also open two new stores in China on this weekend. One store will be based out of Beijing, while the other will be located in Shanghai. The company had recently launched the Wi-Fi version of its tablet iPad, however 3G version of the tablet is still eluding the Chinese market. The tablet met with warm welcome, though. The contract-free iPhone 4 is likely to carry a price tag of CNY 4, 999 or $743 for 16 GB version and CNY 5, 999 or $893 for 32 GB model. Apple fans in China queued up for iPad and waited for as long as 60 hours, and it seems like lines are going to much longer for iPhone 4.

I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
