Though it seems Google Chrome's been around forever it is in fact only two years. So, Happy Birthday Google Chrome.
Google have said "it is amazing to see how far the browser has come over two years. In August 2008, Javascript was 10 times slower, HTML5 support wasn’t yet an essential feature in modern browsers, and the idea of a sandboxed, multi-process browser was only a research project."
They admitted that it's not just Chrome that has developed but all browsers have come a long way in the last two years and the 'world wide web has become much more fun and useful.’
But come on Google, let's not put Chrome down. It is a great browser and to celebrate its birthday it has evolved into Chrome 6. The new version includes patches for 14 security vulnerabilities, including six to fix 'high-priority flaws.'
The new version has a simplified user interface: there’s a single menu, the “go” button has been removed, the browser no longer shows “http://” in the address bar, the bookmark button has been moved to the right and the toolbar has a new colour scheme..
There's a bunch of other tweaks and additions which you can read about here at the Chrome website.
So what browser do you use?
Do the changes to Chrome tempt you to move to Google?
