So the time of year when our TV screens are taken over by unknown talent is still upon us – although thank God for the demise of Big Brother finally. Now we’re left with the staple of reality TV – The X Factor. And I’m sure that some of you reading this will have watched the likes of Jedward, Darius and whoever the heck is on it at the moment and thought ‘I could do that so much better’. Well now is your chance.
Gear4 have teamed up with online karaoke specialist Lucky Voice to provide a streaming service for X Factor fans featuring classics from the show (and here I was thinking they just murdered successful peoples songs).
The X Factor Party Box plugs into your computer, and can stream up to 7500 available songs from the X Factor Karaoke website. You can then create your own set lists and sing along to your hearts content, all without worrying about Simon Cowell destroying your hopes and dreams with one barbed comment comparing you to some kind of animal stuck in a bear trap. The downside is that the Party Box only comes with one months free unlimited song streaming, and after that you need to buy credits from the website.
A microphone, mixer and cables are provided, and you can get them from John Lewis, HMV and Currys in the shops, or online at Lucky Voice.
