Google's free e-mail service Gmail, has been updated with a new priority mail system called Gmail Priority Inbox. The optional service works in a similar way to their anti-spam feature, but places the important mail at the top of your inbox.
The service works by identifying what messages you read or reply to and attempts to prioritize them appropriately. There is also an option to make specific mail more or less important, if the auto-service is inaccurate, effectively making the feature more accurate the more it's used. The service will also allow users to 'star' their messages if they require finding the e-mail later for whatever reasons.
Gmail Priority Inbox should be available in the next few days to regular and Google Apps users, with an Android version also being a possibility. The service is heavily aimed at those of us who receive floods of e-mails every day, but may be useful to those who don't check their e-mails too often. What do you think about the new service?
