Beta Kinect kits for the Xbox 360 Arrive For Gamers: Will We Learn Anything New?

The beta Kinect kits, which came with the Kinect itself, Kinect Sports, Kinect Joyride and a smiley-faced instruction placard, have started arriving through people's post today.

When the new hardware is plugged into the beta tester's Xbox 360, they are

prompted to install some software known as Kinect Hub. Kinect Hub is used for calibrating the Kinect, as well as downloading other betas for the hardware.

There seems to be mixed feelings about the Beta release of the device with some gamers pointing out minor but 'not tha

t noticeable' lag. The voice command feature seems to currently be in working order. When the Xbox is called out to, a menu with a list of voice commands appears with the available voice commands such as dashboard, back and forward.

Unfortunately there are no images of the device in use from the leaker of the images below, but who know, we may be seeing something shortly.

  • With this being such a huge release for Microsoft, you would think they would have launched the beta sooner in the year. they aren’t giving themselves much time to fix all of the bugs and make appropriate tweaks…it is only two months away…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
