Bloomberg have revealed that Apple are hosting a media event in San Franciso on September 7th which happens to be on the same day Apple's annual Mac plus iPod touch (for students) promotion ends.
At Tuesday’s event it's almost certain that we're going to see iPod news in some shape or other and the Apple TV is set to spring up despite its apparent legal bruising by a certain British channel, with its new title 'iTV' and a more tempting $99 price-tag.
Apple is said to be holding the event two weeks ahead of the start of the new prime-time TV season in the US and that the company is in advanced talks with News Corp (as well as other media companies) to let iTunes users rent TV shows for just 99 cents.
iPod wise, expectations are high for a new touch with a higher-resolution display, (similar to the display featured on the iPhone 4.) With a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a camera of some sort on the front and as we reported a few days ago, there has been what looks like iPod touch cases made to accommodate a front camera lens, floating around in China.
The unveiling of an all new Apple TV and the next generation of the iPod touch is going to be a pretty exciting event but word is Apple may have something else up their sleeve too.
What do you think Apple could announce come September 7th?
