Samsung Galaxy S Unlock Code Found in Actual Phone

Since Galaxy S proved to be one of the most popular Android phones, it was inevitable that the phone would become a fodder for the creative folks. Their latest venture is to free the Galaxy phones from the clutches of the service providers and apparently, it is easy to do. It has been revealed that the unlock codes for the phones are not stored on some remote server but on an easily hackable file in the phone itself.

So, all you need to do is to use a hex editor for reading the code. So, just insert your SIM card and punch in the code, and VOILA, your phone is ready to rock on any GSM network of your choice. However, you will need to copy the code to a removable memory card in order to make this hack work. The hacking application is available for both Windows and Mac OS.

The best part is that the hack is reversible, so there is no risk of bricking your handset. In case you get stuck, or you want to avoid the hazard of warranty laps, you can use the same code to bring your phone back to original settings. So far, this trick has worked for various Galaxy S models such as the Captivate and Vibrant. So let us know if you are to try this on your precious Galaxy Phone.
