My Scratch Map – boast about your travels

Remember the good old days, before everyone started a count down to their holidays on Facebook a billion days before it happened? (‘OMG! Mazorca in firty nine dayz! Soooooooo excitd!!1!1!!!’). Well, I liked the simplicity of sticking a pin in a map when you got back. It’s refined, it’s easy and it still says ‘sucks to be you’ to those who haven’t had a holiday this year (like your humble blogger here).

Gadgets have of course moved on and I wouldn’t even know where to buy a world map now, except maybe Ebay. So thank you Firebox for My Scratch Map. In the same vein as lottery scratch cards, My Scratch Map has covered the globe with golden foil, and once you’ve visited a place you scratch it off. Voila – display it on your wall and everyone will be asking you about the time you spent in Kenya. Just don’t lie and say you visited the North Pole unless you really did go to see Santa…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
