If your a member of Facebook you'll probably have come across those annoying updates about one of your friends who has created a nice bag potatoes on his Farmville.
Web browser gaming is soon to be big business, the folks behind Farmville recently secured $200 million worth of funding to take it to the next level.
So, not to miss an opportunity, the creators of the uber-fantastic Street Figher, have announced today that they are planning to bring a raft of games from the iPhone to the world of Facebook.
The US arm of the Japanese games maker will be bringing some of their most revered titles to the Web. With reports the first titles to make the jump to Facebook would be the Street Fighter and Resident IV.
The Nikkei says Capcom plans to offer the Facebook games for free but will earn money by selling virtual items, as a lot of other game providers on social networks do. As a start, the Japanese company aims at attracting one million Facebook users from the US and Europe. In Japan, Capcom saw the domestic market for video games shrink for the second straight year in 2009 (minus 6.9% to $6.3 billion).
This comes after the news Activision expects to see their Call of Duty franchise to appear in Web Browser form in the future. All thanks to cloud side gaming and better web connections.
So expect to see Chung-li, Ryu and Ken popping up in your updates feed in the near future.
