Verizon is sure breaking a sweat when it comes to pushing Android. Apparently, the company is collaborating with Motorola for an Android based tablet. According to the leaked documents, Motorola has codenamed its tablet 'Stingray', which is a nice break from "me-too-a-Pad" nomenclature. The cached page of Verizon inventory has linked the codename to model number MOTMZ600. However, the jury is still out whether the said device is actually a tablet or a slab form factor device somewhere between a smartphone and a tablet. Since the leaked snapshot features the word 'tablet', I am just going to keep my fingers crossed that we are going to get a full-fledged tablet.
The tablet is likely to sport a 10-inch display and will be FiOS enabled for Verizon. Like Notion Ink's Adam tablet, Stingray will also feature NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Apart from that, it is expected to feature front and rear facing cameras. As for its OS, Motorola just might wait for Gingerbread to hit the market. This makes sense since Gingerbread is expected to be more tablet friendly than the current Froyo OS.
And the bonus news is that Motorola is also working on Motorola DROID Pro, a mean machine with a 4" display and global roaming capability. The phone is expected to be launched in November.
