With Microsoft and Sony jumping onto the motion-gaming bandwagon with Kinect and Move, it was only a matter of time for before Nintendo reacted.
The Japanese company has already got a lot on their plate at the moment with the impending release of the 3DS and now it seems
they're making plans for a full 3D based console.
Keeping their eyes on the latest trends the company said: "We're thinking that the timing should be once 3D television adoption rates cross the 30% mark."
Nintendo have wanted to go down 3D for games route for many years now and released the almost forgotten flop of the Virtual Boy machine in 1995. Now that the world is getting ready for 3D, Nintendo will be starting to make a move.
Today at a press-release Nintendo confirmed they have now sold 30 million Wii units in the US alone, (making it the fastest console to reach that milestone in the history of gaming.)
And With no changes made to the Wii console since its release compared to their rivals who have for example released slim models, the speculation is that Nintendo are instead, focusing their attention on a 2011 release of its successor, Wii 2, which is said to be coming with HD support and a Blu-ray player.

the only reason the PS3 got blu-ray was because SONY is on that list but nintendo is nowhere to be seen. They will need to make a deal with one of those 20 companies to gain a blu-ray drive and sony will not allow that as blu-ray has been a major selling point for the ps3
