Smartphones are coming in thick and fast at the moment. It feels like one is coming out every other day.
One that everyone's got their eye on is the Dell Streak. At $299.99 (with a two year AT&T contract or an eye-watering $549.99 without.)
The Streak comes with Android 1.6 installed and Dell is testing newer versions such as Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 Froyo with hopes to release them onto the Streak the next few months.
It's got all the stuff you'd expect from it like a 5 inch screen, WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, all It running on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Plus it's got some exciting features which seem well suited to a tablet device such as integrated Google Maps with turn-by-turn navigation, a five MP camera and expandable memory (via Micro SD) up to 32GB.
And now Dell have announced its release date, quite ridiculously, as Friday the 13th obviously Dell aren't superstitious so let's hope all goes well for them, otherwise there will be some hilarious news headlines on Saturday.
Orders are being taken on August 12 over at the Dell site. Also those who pre-order can take advantage of a coupon that allows you to get a Plantronics Bluetooth earpiece for just 99 cents (while stock is available). Those who pre-order not only get 'free second-day shipping upgrade' but a coupon which allows them to get a Bluetooth head piece for 99 cents.
So what do you think we’ll be reading on the tech blogs on Saturday morning?
