With recent news that Finnish phone manufacturer, Nokia have seen a decline in their overall sales, it was reported that surprisingly their handset sales are still going strong and on the increase.
One of the reasons for Nokia’s increase in handset sales could be down to the fact that they have been releasing a lot of cheap handsets for the more budget-conscious among us. The next in this line of their potentially well priced handsets is looking to be the newly leaked Nokia 5250 (shown below), which is looking to be a follow up to the footsteps of the Nokia 5230.
The 5250 is looking a bit more aesthetically pleasing than its predecessor, with sharper edges, some minor design changes on the buttons and what may be a thinner touchscreen.
Nothing has been revealed about the new phone's specs yet, but it is more than likely that it will simply be a minor improvement to the 5230's specs which included a 2-megapixel camera, 128MB Ram and minor internal storage which can be improved by buying a better microSD card. Despite the likely similarities to the 5230, the 5250 has been reported to be likely to get a name change before its release, potentially falling into the C range.
It is expected that the 5250 will be priced in the £100 range for PAYG and free with some contracts.
Although releases like the 5250 aren't exactly revolutionary in the mobile phone market, Nokia's pricing could be more than enough to convince people to buy them. Are you convinced enough to go cheaper or is your head in the clouds for the high-budget smartphones? Leave your thoughts below.
