It has been rumoured that Netflix is working on an official app that will allow users to stream movies and TV shows directly to Android devices. The rumour came after a recent job listing for an Android Video Playback Expert was advertised by specifying that ‘Android will likely be the next mobile platform to get Netflix streaming.’

This has come as surprising news especially as Netflix was adamant only a couple of months ago that the company wasn’t focused on streaming to smaller screens such as the iPad or iPhone, however since then they have discussed planning an iPhone version of the app sometime in the summer.

Well, if Apple can have it then why can’t Android and it would appear that if rumours are correct then this could actually be the case. No release has been discussed but for all you Android smartphone owners that have been itching to see Netflix app available on your phone, we’ll keep you posted for more details.

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
