We heard last week that RIM is rumoured to be releasing a tablet device, called the BlackPad shortly.
Seen by the tech world as a likely contender for the recently released Apple iPad, the BlackPad is expected to include a 9.7 inch display, Bluetooth, Wifi and even a front facing camera. However it has now been revealed by Apple Daily that the targeted price for the rumoured tablet is expected to be around $499, which is a similar price point to the Apple iPad.
A definite release date for the RIM tablet hasn’t been set yet but, Quanta, who have won the bid to manufacture the tablet, plan to start manufacturing 2 million units in September (for a November retail launch).
