Google's Gmail New Feature Now Supports Multiple Sign In

Don’t get me wrong, Gmail is a great email service, however one of the annoyances is the fact that if you have multiple accounts like me, you can’t used these accounts simultaneously. Instead you can only use one account at a time by logging out of one account and logging into another.

Well, Google have announced that this is going to get a lot simpler. On the official Gmail Blog, Engineering Director Macduff Hughes has said that they have introduced a new feature in which you can now switch between multiple accounts without actually having to log out. He explains below on how you can do this:

"You can visit google.com/accounts and click the link next to 'Multiple sign-in.' After you sign into your first account, you can sign in with up to two additional accounts from the new accounts menu in the upper right hand corner of Gmail, then easily toggle back and forth between them. You can even open multiple Gmail tabs -- one for each of your accounts."

This is great news for people like me who have multiple accounts, however Google did advise that the feature doesn’t support all Google’s services and can’t be used in offline mode or on your mobile device.

Have you tried out the new feature? What do you think of it? Leave your thoughts below…

An absolute tech junky, I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Computing and now live on the outskirts of Leeds working with you guessed it, Computers. I love all things gadgety but really dislike wires. For those of you who haven’t worked it out the name of the site is a combination of my nickname (Gaj) and the pronunciation ‘Gadget’.
